Greetings,

As Octuvious had a lot to say this time, I will keep mine short. This I found in a fortune cookie yesterday;

Loser's visualize the penalties of failure.
Winners visualize the rewards of success.

What do you know, the first fortune cookie I've ever had which actually gave advice on how to achieve a fortune!

Take great care and enjoy the season,

Maia

Wise Words from Octuvious

HOLIDAYS

Precious Ones,

The holidays are upon us, and with that an enormous amount of expectations and extra chores. You have your own expectations of what things should be like, and you have the expectations you take on from others, of what you perceive they must want from you.

The holidays started a long, long time ago, in the northern regions. They came forth from a need of change. They were born from a state of boredom. People were cold, they were becoming increasingly depressed, and they were wanting for something bright and cheerful to bring purpose and meaning to a long dark winter. It was a way to reconnect with loved ones, and with life, a celebration of both.

The traditions stayed with you as your parents grew up, the need to fill the winter nights still alive within the society. And so it was instilled that things needed to be done as they had been done. That there was a holiness to the act of recreating the same actions as a way to honor ones past in what is called Tradition.

However people are no longer bored in the winter times. They are no longer looking for something to do. They are often over burdened by the perceived pressure of recreating something that would better serve them if it was allowed to be adjusted to fit the present times.

Traditions and rituals serve the purpose of activating associations within the memory. When you do, that which you’ve done before, you remember how you felt when you last did it. In fact your mind brings your focus back in time, and your emotions cannot distinguish between what is happening and what happened.

There was an innocence about childhood, and during the holidays there was a heightened sense of magic, and so, when the holidays come back, you often look to recreate this feeling.

Know, dear ones, that it is much easier to recreate than you imagine. Know that at any time you may create new Traditions and the new ones will serve you just as well.

Find a peaceful place, at a peaceful time. Close your eyes and remember;

Even though the holidays are upon me, the earth is still round, the sky is still here and the wind still blows. I am where I am, and I am who I am, and that is enough. Not only is it enough, it cannot be anything but enough, and I delight in the knowing that I am enough, that what I do is enough, and that there is nothing more precious that I can bring forth into this world, than my own well being.

I will choose wisely this season. I will not look outside of myself for guidance as to what best serves me, and I will only engage myself in the things I’ve aligned myself to.

I will honor myself, and as I do so, an appreciation of my loved ones and of life will emerge. I come to celebrate life, and in so doing, I connect with the essence of the season, and its original purpose.

This concludes this reading.
In our hearts you rest, as we send you love.
