Maia's Musings
Some years ago... nine to be exact, I was watching the History Channel on TV and they were talking
about new scientific findings regarding "the string theory". Also dubbed the Theory Of Everything,
(T.O.E)
At that time I had never heard of this theory, I hadn't realize science was considering a unified... anything!
Watching this program I got very, very excited. You might think I was a sports fan and my team was
winning the Superbowl. To think that there might be actual evidence that we are One, how extraordinarily
revolutionary!
I kept thinking though that there was an element missing... the... the actual experience! Alright
then Maia, I asked myself, what is the actual experience?
Oh I know, there is this "hum". There's a hum, it's not audible, however it can be experienced. And
the reason it is not audible and the reason it can be experienced, is because it is who we are.
This "hum", when experienced, fills you up with acceptance and inclusion. It is love unconditional.
This "hum" expresses itself as light. Not visual light, Light as in Life.
Recently when reading The Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton, there was a part when one client approached
what Michael termed God. (Dr. Newton is a Hypnotherapist who specialises in bringing people to a place
between lives). Dr. Newton got very excited for he had long hoped to find someone to explain God to him.
"Dr. N: A little further... just beyond... what is there?
S: I... feel... the sound holds this structure... and... makes it move...shifting and undulating...creating
everything. It is a reverberating deep bell...then high-pitched pure humming...like an echo of...(stop)
Dr. N: Reach in Chinera, one last effort. An echo of what?
S: (a deep sigh) A mother... full of love... signing to her child."
Then, as coincidences will have it, the same week I'm reading this, I talk to a friend and he mentions
this "hum".
"Yes!" I say, "there is, isn't there, there is this "hum"!"
Later that week, while going for a hike, it struck me, there's an "Om" in sanscrit, isn't there?!
That squigly letter that's become somewhat of a symbol for Yoga Practices. Went on line and found the following:
The Om is also often referred to as the sound of the Earth…creation...the heart of existence. To
become one with the sound of the Om, through visual meditation and sounding of the vibration, allows one
to become one with the source of all...
This sound has been acknowledged for quite some time hasn't it :)
So I'm slow... so that's okay.
Happy listening :)
